Vivo Y28 Review 2026: Design and Build Quality

The phone feels good to hold. It weighs 199g. The back and frame are made of plastic, but it has an IP64 rating, which protects it from dust and water splashes.

The fingerprint sensor is on the side and works very fast. It unlocks the phone in about 0.2 seconds. Despite having a 6000mAh battery, the phone still looks slim.

Vivo Y28 Review 2026: Display Experience

The screen is 6.68 Inches IPS LCD. Resolution is HD+ 720 x 1608.

Yes it is not Full HD. But in real use it looks sharp. The best part is 90Hz refresh rate. Scrolling and animations are very smooth.

Brightness is 760 nits. In sunlight it goes to 1000 nits HBM. I had no issue outside. Colors are good for YouTube and Netflix.

For a 45k phone, this display is good for daily use.

Vivo Y28 Review 2026: Performance and Software

The phone has a MediaTek Helio G85 chip. It is a 2.0GHz Octa-Core processor with a Mali-G57 MP2 GPU.

One of the biggest advantages is the 8GB RAM + 8GB Extended RAM. This gives up to 16GB of available RAM. It also has 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, so apps open quickly.

The phone came with Android 14, but I updated it to Android 15 with FuntouchOS 15. The UI is clean. There are some extra apps, but you can delete them.

I mostly use the internet for my daily tasks. I have not faced any lag or hanging issues. The phone also stays cool during normal use.

Vivo Y28 Review 2026: Battery Test – 2 Day Battery

Here is my real battery test:

  • Day 1 – Heavy Use: I used YouTube, WhatsApp, and social media for a long time. Even with heavy use, the battery easily lasted for one full day.
  • Day 2 – Normal Use: With normal use, based on my experience, the battery can last around 1.5 to 2 days.

The charging speed is also quite good. The phone comes with a 44W fast charger in the box. In my test, it took 43 minutes to charge from 0% to 50%, while a full 0% to 100% charge took 1 hour and 19 minutes.

Vivo Y28 Review 2026: Camera Performance

The back camera is 50MP f/1.8 with PDAF + 2MP depth. Front camera is 8MP f/2.1.

Daylight Photos: Very sharp and detailed. Colors are natural. HDR works well.

Night Photos: There is some noise. But night mode helps. It is good for this price.

Video: 1080p at 30fps. No OIS. So keep your hand stable.

Selfie: 8MP camera is good for Instagram. Skin tone is natural. Portrait blur is decent.

Vivo Y28 Review 2026: Gaming Test

The Vivo Y28 has a MediaTek Helio G85 processor. According to published gaming tests, PUBG Mobile can run at around 40 FPS on Smooth settings, but the FPS may drop during heavy fights.

Free Fire and COD Mobile are playable on lower or medium settings. The performance is good for casual gaming, but this phone is not ideal for heavy games like Genshin Impact.

Note: These results are based on published reviews and gaming tests because I did not personally test gaming on this phone.

Vivo Y28 Review 2026: Connectivity and Extra Features

The phone has Dual 4G SIM. Wi-Fi dual band. Bluetooth 5.0. GPS with GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS.

You also get USB Type-C 2.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, and FM Radio.

Sensors: Accelerometer, Compass, Side Fingerprint, Proximity.

There is no NFC and no 5G. But 4G speed is good.
